  • A ghostly Halloween

Due to a technical error this happened on October 31 and not November 6

So dad has been experiencing some technical difficulties with this blog thing. What’s the deal man? The timestamp is just not working. Who the heck has to blog on the night it happens anyway? Don’t they know parents have things to do?

At any rate, Halloween yet again. Wow how fast a year goes by eh? While I can’t say mom and dad went crazy on the costume this year like they did last year, it was a really fun costume. Let’s break down the ingredients: one king sized pillow case, one pair of scissors, 15 minutes of laughing at me trying to pop my arms out after a head hole was cut but no arm holes, and a tube of white face paint. By the way, dad and mom are jerks for laughing at me that whole time. In the end, voila! Ghost.

The gang was all here and candy everywhere. Candy, goooood. Bath to clean up face paint, not as good. Here were the highlights.

  • Hitting the gym

Due to technical difficulties this occurred Oct 11 not November 4.

So I went to my first birthday party today and it was at a gymnastics place. I will spare you the details and cut to the chase; the foam pit is literally the best place on earth. Dad actually got a kick out of how high/far he could throw me and leave me unharmed. Seriously, I got air. A HUGE pit of foam blocks and dad tossing me into the air; seriously, how much better could it get? Past that I ran a few obsitcle courses, a lot of trampline, and just in general a hugely good time. Hey, a room padded floor to ceiling with this much to do, seriously I couldn’t script this. Why have I not been here before?

  • Dad weekend

Due to technical difficulties this post happened on October 25 but is listed as Nov 4

So once again mom leaves me alone with dad. Mom’s thoughts… mom leaves for spa weekend with friends, dad is left to fend for himself, hilarity ensues with dad watching me. Reality, mom leaves for spa weekend with friends, dad busts out camera, plays with me endlessly while ignoring all household duties and the outside world while I get a weekend of unadulterated dad and Cooper play time. Yes folks we did not much of anything. Pretty much nap, play, nap, play with a bunch of “eat” in there too. Turns out me and dad have a lot more in common than I though.

    Fork Exercises

    This happened on October 25
Well we sped from spoon to baby fork. Now I gotta get my hands on a real one. Alas progress is not made sans hiccups. While in the end my objectives were met, my form leaves a bit to be desired. Dad found it to be pretty funny. Dad and I are gearing up for a dad and son weekend so we will keep you posted.

  • First swim class

Water is, as they say, my thing. I dig it. Mom and dad don’t want me to drown someday so they decided to get me up on the swim class thing. This is the last of the throwbacks to August. This one August 12. Predictably, I got in the pool and went nuts. Dad is a little curious as to how this helps me learn how to swim as they just kicked it in the pool with the foam noodle. I had a blast though so that makes it ok in dad’s book. Mom and I came out of the pool smelling quite a bit like chlorine. Seriously, like no amount of chlorine I have ever seen. But I did have a blast…

  • Zoo with grandma and grandpa

Well this actually happened August 24 but there was a slight issue with uploading these pics. By issue, I mean dad finally got them from grandpa then took a while to get them online. Rather than make all you kind folks dig back in time to see them, I put them here and simply noted the time difference. Mom and dad were in Alaska and grandma and grandpa took me on a week of fun. Here is one such adventure. Zoo was great. Here are the pics…

  • The day the bat entered our lives

Again, a delayed reaction here. This one came to us from all the way back from August 27 of this year. For those of you there, you will no doubt never forget it but for those of you not there, let me quickly fill you in. We were all sitting there watching TV when mom let out a scream and ran for cover. Once we all got our wits about us we realized that there was a bat in the room. Not just hanging out but flying in circles around the house. Oh the fun.

So dad and grandpa went running around chasing this thing around. Here are a few of the shots taken. Dad was more upset he couldn’t get a better photo but let’s be honest, it was dark, there was a bat in the house for crying out loud. Again, dad still laments that he should have been quicker with the camera.

  • Mowing the lawn, almost for real this time

Those of you who know me know that I love the plastic lawn mower mom and dad gave me. Well dad has been trying to close down the yard for the season so he was out and about sucking leaves and then, mowing the lawn. Well I had enough of this passive watching stuff, so I jumped right in. Mowed most of the lawn pushing this thing along with dad. Now mom and dad say they are going to use this as evidence when I am 13 as to why I should be mowing the lawn (a lifelong desire to actually mow the lawn).
