Dad says he is calling it quits after this but we did have one last day of fireworks here. Man, a guy could get used to these things.

This has been a very long week for us. On Friday, (6/29) a bad storm called a Derecho came through and knocked out our power! Well, today…supposedly the power is coming back on. That’s almost exactly 1 VERY LONG WEEK LATER! Daddy went crazy, bought a generator, hooked it up to the power line and did his very best to make it as comfortable as possible. However, he couldn’t get the AC in there because it uses too much power. So although eventually we had lights and fan…that did nothing to help with the 100+ degree temperatures. We did the best we could to cope. Riley and I slept at Wheelie’s and Susana’s. We got a room air conditioner to atleast help 1 room(altho it really didn’t do much). Daddy slept down in the basement but Mommy couldn’t take the bed. I think we all need a vacation!

As tradition is, we went up to aunt Jenny and uncle Nik’s for fireworks. As is also tradition dad and Nik set off a bunch of fireworks and we watched this unfold. No fires this year which is a good thing. More of the same fun though which I love. Truly one of the highlights of the summer.

Dad is slowly letting me use this thing more and more. Getting a little better at actually holding this thing upright. Dad is getting pretty proud. Check out my form man.

Today was fun. Hot so mom and dad lugged us downtown to the Science Center. A little out of the house activity that was in air conditioning. That didn’t stop me from “needing” a lift. I had to show Riley the ropes there. Check out her blog for her take on it. I had fun for sure. Dad says mom’s new parking spot is the best thing ever.
Funny word, yes. Can I say it? No. Funny what happened? Not really but I did have a blast cleaning up branches; for days. We had no power for a few days of course so that was not terribly fun as it was 1000 degrees but again, branches were fun. Dad even bought a chain saw. Man. Does not get a lot better than that.
