First Memorial Day Bash

This was the first appearance at mom and dad’s famous Memorial Day bash A bit different this year as they are now in Baltimore but aunts Jen and Liz showed up from the Boken along with a few neighbors and of course a good portion of Mom’s family. Dad even had a friend from his old California days show up (nice to meet you Mr. Mergen). Thank you Facebook for letting him know he lives 20 minutes away.

8 pounds of skirt steak, chimichurri, Jack Daniels, a few cases of beer, etc later everyone went home by 7:30; an all time worst for mom and dad and highly disappointing. Seriously. Oh well, they said they will re-work the plan for next year and try again. In the meantime, the chimi went over well and that is really all that matters!

Cousin Sam’s birthday and the air show!

Sam and I have very similar birthdays so this was the first year we were able to really experience that. While I see some potential issues with the future “shared birthdays” Sam was here first so I will play along; this year. Once I figure out how to use these hands of mine though, you had better watch your toys buddy. Mom, aunt Jenny, and uncle Nik took us to the air show to look at planes. It was a lot of fun actually. We saw the Blue Angels. I was a little unnerved by the loudness of the planes at first but I soon got over it and all was well with the world. Then we were exhausted afterward as you can tell from the picture taken on the ride home.

First Mother’s Day

So while dad got to have a sort of father’s day last year (ok so it was basically in the hospital with me) mom did not. So, this was her first! Yeah! Her wish, simple, IHOP. So were were off. Naturally, I was the hit of the ball. Every table was staring at me. Hilarious. Just a chill day. Went shopping for patio furniture today too. We are on a mission.

Random moseying along

Randomness day of shots. Visiting aunty Jenny and Sam’s house. Then Dori came over. Then, whem mom could not find me on the first floor of the house, she noticed I had learnned how to climb the stairs. DARN! My escape plan was foiled yet again.

Landscaping the yard

While they love the house, they didn’t love the yard. So, problem solved by visiting the nursery. It was hot and there was a lot of plants to buy. Ten minutes after getting there it was clear: we were not going to bring this stuff home in the car. Delivery it was. We found Justin (he was going to his prom that night) who helped us through the entire thing. He knew a lot about plants man.

We got them home and decided we needed more. So, round two, we put in the car. Just barely had room for me. Here is how I looked afterward. By then end, I was beat. Could not keep the eyes open.

First Outdoor dinner

So mom and dad finally got their acts together and put the “green table” together. Funny, the entire time dad grew up things were often referred to by odd names, sometimes by color. They always brought the “white bag”, or to picnics the “Gott”. We seem to have adopted a similar issue with this table. Previously used by grandma and grandpa in their Hoboken apartment, the table is green and thus, the “green table”. I digress…

So the weather went nuts today and we BBQed and ate outside. Pretty good stuff. The start of another summer; my first. Can’t wait!

My first haircut!!

So it was a long time coming but it had to be done. My hair was almost pony tail length so mom and dad thought it was time for a chop. (dad did think twice though about pulling it back in a rubber band. Something about “like father like son”, I don’t know. Mom called him crazy). Mom thought it would be best to wait until bath time even though I am a crazy child right now due to cold and over tired-ness. Dad took the helm and started chopping. My head was moving all over the place so it was not the straightest cut ever seen but in the end, I think it looks pretty good. Dad insists that he will “clean it up” tomorrow. Let’s hope I don’t go back to being bald.

My Florida trip

Florida here I come (well, went now as it were)! Mom thought it would be fun to kick it down in Florida with great uncle Dick and Judy. Florida was great especially me getting to swim in the pool. I really liked that quite a bit. I did however get sick on the plane on the way down there. Was sick the whole time there too. Bummer. Then cried the whole way home because I was so sick. Back now but here are some pics…
